My father died in 2016 having emigrated to Spain just over 30 years ago. He had never forgiven me for giving up my medical career in order to practice meditation. While I admit I may have been misled. I actually do not regret the past. I bear my father no malice and try to accept the way he was because to bear a grudge or to blame him for my own choices is counterproductive and I am powerless over the choices he made I have met with my mother recently on several occasions and it was very moving. After 30 years of separation we can finally move forward without having to bear the burden of our our own mistakes.
